ABOUT LAST WEEK: The Black Bears went up to Middletown, New Jersey and took two games from the Titans for some crucial four points. Jeremi Tremblay had two goals and an assist on the weekend, with Colin Ronan extending this shutout streak to three straight clean sheets and 212 minutes and five seconds of no goals going behind him.
INSTANT DIVIDENDS: Newcomer Dylan Gordon made an impact in his first game with a goal on Friday night. The Chandler, Arizona native comes to Maryland after two seasons in the OHL with Mississauga. The defenseman should provide a solid offensive punch from the blue line for the Black Bears, adding to their depth on the back-end.
WE’RE GOING STREAKING: Heading into the weekend, Kareem El-Bashir is riding a four-game point streak (4g, 3a), as is Keanu Krenn (3g, 3a), while Tremblay is on a three-game point streak (4g, 1a). Plus, of course, Ronan’s shutout streak is at three games
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Black Bears hits the road again, this time against Maine. Four of the eight meetings last year went past regulation with both teams going 4-2-2 on the year. Maryland got the upper hand in the playoffs, taking the East Division title over Maine in four games. With some new faces behind the bench, but familiar faces on the ice– it is primed for the start of another tight time for this rivalry.
HOME ON THE HORIZON: After this weekend, the Black Bears will be back at Piney Orchard to take on the new New Hampshire Mountain Kings on October 20th and 21st. Tickets are available at Tickets.MarylandBlackBears.com or at the Piney Orchard box office.
