ABOUT LAST WEEK: The Black Bears swept New Hampshire last weekend on the back of the buy-in efforts of the team. Both games saw Maryland lay out for blocks in their own end, while using a solid transition game to help provide their offense in the six-goal weekend.

ALL-IN RONAN: Since dropping his first two games in net, Colin Ronan has been on a tear with a 5-0-1 record with a 1.17 GAA and a .945 save percentage, including three shutouts in that time frame. The Saugus, Massachusetts native has looked cool, calm, and collected in net and has gotten plenty of help in front of him from his teammates.

WITH A TRAYCE: After missing a few weeks, Trayce Johnson returned to the line-up last weekend and made his presence known with three assists over the two games, as well as winning the inaugural Defender of the Den award for Friday night. Johnson was injured during the Danbury match-up at the end of September due to a sketchy hit, which could be something to watch out for in this weekend’s tilts.

AFTERNOON DELIGHTS: Maryland will play both their games this weekend in the afternoon. That start time has been somewhat kind to them, as they possess a 31-17-8 record in games that have started at 5 PM local time and earlier. Those numbers are thanks to early start time in the NAHL Showcase, some Sunday games, many early posted games in other markets, and the pandemic scheduling.

HOME ON THE HORIZON: After this weekend, the Black Bears can settle the bus down a bit, as they’ll be home for three of the four weekends in November. Tickets are available now at Tickets.MarylandBlackBears.com or at the Piney Orchard box office.
